Carrick Rangers collected a crucial three points with a four-goal stroll past Ards at the Bangor Fuels Arena.

Rangers needed just eight minutes to open the scoring when Jonathan Smith collected a Damien McNulty header across box before turning, with his back to goal, to send the ball past Sam Johnston.

It was 2-0 early in the second half after a corner created some pinball in the home box before Paddy McNally volleyed home from 12 yards.

Then, on 55 minutes, Lee Chapman added a third when he applied the finish to another McNulty header into the danger zone.

And the scoring was completed with 12 minutes left after Chapman turned provider to tee up Eamon Scannell to head home.
