COLERAINE 0-0 CRUSADERS

IN AN otherwise uneventful opening half-an-hour the Bannsiders had strong penalty claims dismissed by referee Brian Turkington after Colin Coates had brought down Leon Knight.

The game sprang into life towards the end of the half with Michael Halliday hitting an upright for the Crues and Stuart Dallas going close with a looping header while, at the other end, Knight forced 'keeper Sean O'Neill into an acrobatic save.

The second half was largely bereft of noteworthy scoring opportunities with Johnny Black perhaps coming closest when his goalbound free-kick was deflected wide.

Jordan Owens might have snatched it for Crusaders in stoppage time, however, when he was played clear by David Rainey only to fire wide.
