Leon Knight (87)

Leon Knight is congratulated by his Coleraine team-mates following his late winner (Picture: Lorcan Doherty/

COLERAINE enjoyed the large majority of first half possession and had the ball in the net on 19 minutes only for Curtis Allen's back post finish from a Ryan McIlmoyle cross to be ruled offside.

The Bannsiders continued to dominate and came close again seven minutes from the break when a Stephen Lowry shot caused problems within the United defence, the ball being twice cleared off the line.

A similar pattern continued after the break although Gavin Taggart twice came close for the visitors early in proceedings only to find Michael Doherty equal to both challenges.

Coleraine's frustration continued just before the hour mark when Liam Watson cleared a McIlmoyle from just underneath the bar.

But they got their reward just three minutes from time when United 'keeper Wayne Drummond failed to deal with a looping ball allowing it to drop for substitute Leon Knight to touch over the line from barely a yard out.
