CRUES KEEP RUN GOING TO MOVE INTO THIRD

C style="line-height: 1.3em;">RUSADERS stretched their unbeaten league run to nine games with this defeat of Ards at Seaview to move into third spot in the table.

Chris Morrow edged the Crues in front after just six minutes. Ards defender Greg Hall was guilty of handling a Paul Heatley shot and from the subsequent spot-kick Morrow confidently slotted the ball into the bottom right corner.

Then, just two minutes later, Timmy Adamson made it 2-0 with a simple tap-in after Jordan Owens knocked the ball across from the back post.

And Owens almost added a third a few minutes later only to hit the bar with a header.

Number three did arrive seven minutes from the break after Declan Caddell played the ball for Paul Heatley to run through the defence, past 'keeper Graeme McKibbin and slot into the empty net.

Ards pulled one back on 57 minutes through Craig McMillen after he connected with an Andrew Mitchell cross to the back post.

Gary McCutcheon restored the Crues' three goal cushion with four minutes remaining after he collected the ball from Adamson to finish confidently inside the area.

But Ards did earn a second goal just a couple of minutes after that courtesy of a Ross Arthurs header.
