TWO Daniel Hughes goals handed Warrenpoint Town victory over Dungannon Swifts at Stangmore Park and opened up a four point gap at the foot of the table.

Matt Hazley fired the Swifts in front after just two minutes when he got on the end of a quick Ryan Harpur free-kick to beat Johnny Parr with style.

However, Warrenpoint levelled on 36 minutes courtesy of a beautifully executed Hughes lob over Gareth Buchanan from the edge of the six yard box.

The second half was a somewhat subdued affair with perhaps only an early Darren Boyce effort, punched clear by Johnny Parr, coming close to sparking some life into the game.

That all changed with seven minutes remaining, though, when 'Point secured the points when Hughes doubled his tally with a shot in off an upright as Buchanan was rooted to the spot.
