Daniel Hughes and Matthew Tipton grabbed two goals apiece as this entertaining clash at Milltown ended in stalemate.

'Point might have moved in front after 16 minutes when Ruairi Devlin played Hughes through but his shot curled past the post.

United broke down the other end almost immediately but despite being in a great position five yards from goal Allan Jenkins saw his scuffed effort saved by Johnny Parr.

Warrenpoint broke the deadlock on 34 minutes after Liam Bagnall threaded the ball through for Hughes to slot past Dwayne Nelson into the corner.

The visitors levelled a couple of minutes into the second half after Darren Boyce laid the ball off for Neal Gawley to square it for Matthew Tipton to poke home at the back post.

Ballymena then moved in front on 63 minutes after a Gawley cross was headed on by Boyce for Tipton to grab his second of the afternoon.

The game was disrupted for a period of time following a floodlight failure but when play resumed a rejuvenated Warrenpoint grabbed the equaliser when Stephen Hughes crossed for his brother Daniel to turn a perfectly weighted header past Nelson into the bottom left corner.
