GLENTORAN 2-2 CRUSADERS

JORDAN Owens had the ball in the net as early as the sixth minute only for referee Arnold Hunter to rule his 'goal' out offside.

Five minutes later at the other end Ciaran Martyn ran through the middle to fire against an upright with the rebound being cleared to safety.

The opening goal arrived on 19 minutes through Colin Nixon after he got his head to a Gary Hamilton free-kick.

Then, on 28 minutes, Jim O'Hanlon added a second for the Glens after Richard Gibson flicked on a Stephen Carson left-wing cross.

Crusaders pulled one back on 42 minutes through David Rainey whose first time effort from a Sean O'Neill goal kick ended up in the corner of the net.

Rainey almost levelled in first half stoppage time with a thumping 25-yard drive against the crossbar.

But, seconds later, the Crues did level courtesy of a Chris Morrow spot-kick after Carson was punished for a push on Owens.

After the break Crusaders came close with David McMaster and Michael Halliday amongst others testing Elliott Morris.

And they almost snatched the points right at the end when Stuart Dallas saw an overhead kick cleared for a corner before Paul Leeman volleyed just wide.
