DAVID Howland broke the deadlock for Glentoran on 27 minutes with a first time shot into the top corner after collecting a Richard Clarke pass.

But, on 30 minutes, Gary Liggett levelled for the Whites when he bundled the ball over from a Mark Patton cross which 'keeper Elliott Morris initially appeared to have gathered.

The visitors moved in front eight minutes later through David Cushley after he finished low into the bottom corner from a Liggett ball.

Gary Hamilton then might have levelled for the Glens in first half stoppage time when he turned the ball against the base of an upright.

Glentoran did equalise early in the second half, though, after Matthew Burrows marked his return to the side by nodding home a Richard Gibson flick.

However, just three minutes after that, Liggett edged the Whites back in front after he was given the time and space on the edge of the area to curl a low drive beyond Morris.

It was a lead they held until the 66th minute before Gibson met a Jamie McGovern cross from the right with a diving header into the bottom corner.

Distillery almost grabbed victory twice before the end when, first, Mark Patton went one-on-one with Morris with the 'keeper coming off best while Liggett sent the ball over from just six yards.
