A JOE Gormley stoppage time goal spared Cliftonville from falling to a home defeat at the hands of Dungannon Swifts.

The Swifts started well with Darren Boyce and Ryan Harpur both having decent efforts early on although both were deflected wide.

Gormley might have opened the scoring for the Reds on 19 minutes but his effort was punched clear by Niall Morgan.

However, the deadlock was eventually broken three minutes from the break after Liam Boyce jinked down the left-hand side before beating Morgan from close range.

Martin Murray almost doubled Cliftonville's lead in first half stoppage time only to blast over when well placed.

The Swifts levelled through Boyce on 53 minutes after he connected with a James Costello pass to fire home in off the crossbar.

Indeed, the visitors looked the more likely to add to their tally with a Harpur free-kick from outside the area going barely inches over while substitute Jamie Douglas saw an effort from the right side of the area well kept out by Conor Devlin.

And they did move in front six minutes from time after Chris Lavery drifted in from the left side to beat Devlin at the near post.

But up popped Gormley two minutes into added time to scramble a point for the champions after Boyce had crossed from the right.
