Coleraine and Glenavon cancelled each other out to settle for a point from this clash at The Showgrounds.

The Bannsiders started well. Eoin Bradley had a chance inside the box but could only turn it wide before Ben Doherty dragged an effort just off target.

Then, on 20 minutes, Bradley went one better with a simple finish in front of goal after Jamie Glackin's initial effort was parried by Johnny Tuffey.

Stephen Murray came close to levelling for Glenavon a matter of minutes later but was thwarted by a perfectly timed Aaron Canning tackle as he was through on goal.

Gareth McConaghie produced a similarly crucial stop to deny Jordan Jenkins at the other end while, close to the break, Adam Mullan hesitated in front of goal allowing Rhys Marshall to clear the danger.

But Glenavon levelled five minutes into the second half in terrific fashion when, following a period of pressure, Niall Grace unleashed a great strike into the top corner from just outside the area after Conor McCloskey's initial shot was charged down.

Jamie McGonigle might have restored Coleraine's lead on 54 minutes but his free-kick was tipped over by Tuffey. And Chris Johns was busy at the other end just after the hour to produce a double save to deny Jenkins

Canning then had a late chance to seal the points for Coleraine after getting his head to a corner only to send the ball over the crossbar.
