WARRENPOINT Town picked up an important point from this entertaining visit of Ballinamallard United to Stangmore Park.
Barry Gray's side started very brightly, almost grabbing the lead inside the opening seconds when Stephen McCabe saw an effort well saved by Fergal Murphy.
McCabe then turned provider on six minutes to tee up Stephen Hughes but his blast was again denied by the impressive Murphy.
But the Swifts 'keeper was beaten on 19 minutes. Liam Bagnall delivered a corner which Darren King managed to head home although United defender Daniel Keohane may have inadvertently helped the ball over the line.
For the Mallards Joshua McIlwaine saw an effort cleared off the line but their best chance of the first half came when Andy Crawford tried to flick the ball past Jonathan Parr only for the Town 'keeper to deal with the danger.
Whitey Anderson's side levelled on 50 minutes through substitute Jason McCartney - on for McIlwaine at the break - after the loose ball fell for him from a Parr save to a Stuart Hutchinson effort.
Then, on 62 minutes, Hutchinson went one better for the Mallards after he met a Mark McConkey through ball to curl the ball inside the far post beyond the advancing 'keeper.
Warrenpoint got back on level terms 11 minutes later. A McCabe cross into the area was handled by Cathal Beacom and from the subsequent penalty Stephen Hughes scored in off the upright.
Ballinamallard were twice thwarted in the closing minutes as they chased the winner. First, on 86 minutes, Ryan Campbell had the ball in the net but this was ruled out offside before - in stoppage time - Mark Stafford headed just over from a cross.
