Three Joe Gormley second half goals saw Cliftonville sweep to a Friday night victory over Warrenpoint Town at Solitude.

With the side at polar opposites in the table there were hints of an upset on the cards when Ciaran O'Connor fired 'Point into the lead as early as the seventh minute.

Darren King delivered a ball from the right which the home defence failed to adequately clear before, at the second attempt, O'Connor tucked a shot past Conor Devlin.

It was a lead Warrenpoint held - and through Dermot McVeigh they might have increased - until the 61st minute when Gormley levelled with a simple finish.

He doubled his tally six minutes later from ten yards after David McDaid found him from a quickly taken free-kick before, with ten minutes remaining, he grabbed his hat-trick after once more being teed up by McDaid.
