LATE GOAL DENIES ARDS ALL THREE POINTS

Ards just missed out on picking up all three points from Glentoran's visit to the Bangor Fuels Arena.

The Glens might have taken an early lead when, inside the first ten minutes, Marcus Kane turned the ball off the inside of the post with Paul O'Neill's follow up cleared off the line.

The next opening fell to Curtis Allen but his 25-yard free-kick was straight at Ards keeper Sam Johnston while, a little later, Allen found himself through on goal but Johnston quickly reacted to block the danger.

And Johnston was called into action again just before the break to save a low effort from Darren Murray after the Glentoran man had worked his way in behind the Ards defence.

However, the deadlock was broken early in the second half when Ards moved in front through Michael McLellan's follow up close range finish after his initial effort had been blocked by Elliott Morris.

That was how it stayed until ten minutes from time when Allen nodded Nathan Kerr's cross from the right back across the face of goal with the ball appearing to go in off defender Callum Byers as he attempted to clear.

Ards ended the game with ten men following Johnny Taylor's late dismissal for collecting two bookings.
