Linfield have announced the signing of Warrenpoint Town forward Lorcan Forde on a three year deal.

The 18-year-old burst onto the scene last season during Warrenpoint Town’s return to the Danske Bank Premiership last season with 11 goals in 35 league games as the Border club retained their place in the top flight.

Forde – a product of Warrenpoint Town’s youth setup trained with English Premier League side Burnley last season.

Linfield manager David Healy told the official Linfield website: “He's one of the best young talents around and he's certainly a player we've had in mind for quite some time.

“We've been keeping a close eye on his progress and we've been impressed by his pace, energy and youthful enthusiasm. He will provide real options for us in the striking areas and I believe in time he will turn out to be a huge signing for us.”

David Healy also confirmed the signings of teenagers Connor Maxwell (from Ards) and Brandon Doyle (Crusaders).

Meanwhile, Francis McCaffrey – released by Ballymena United earlier in the week – has signed for Warrenpoint Town.
