Linfield’s Shayne Lavery has retained his place in the Northern Ireland squad for the forthcoming UEFA 2020 qualifiers against The Netherlands and Germany.

Lavery remains the only representative from the Danske Bank Premiership to be included in manager Michael O’Neill’s 25-man panel for the crunch double header this month, as Northern Ireland face The Netherlands at Windsor Park on Saturday 16 November before travelling to Frankfurt three days later.

Since joining Linfield this summer, Lavery has starred both domestically and in Europe for the reigning Premiership champions, he currently has 12 goals from 19 appearances.

Earlier this season, he became the first player from the Danske Bank Premiership to earn full international honours since Roy Carroll in 2017, when he came on as a substitute against Luxembourg in September.

The squad also contains six alumni from the Irish League as Michael Smith (Heart of Midlothian, ex-Ballymena United), Niall McGinn (Aberdeen, ex-Dungannon Swifts), Stuart Dallas (Leeds United, ex-Crusaders), Gavin Whyte (Cardiff City, ex-Crusaders), Liam Donnelly (Motherwell, ex-Dungannon Swifts) and Liam Boyce (Burton Albion, ex-Cliftonville).
