BALLYMENA United kept their third successive clean sheet of the season with this scoreless draw away to Ballinamallard United.

The Mallards went into the game on the back of a five-goal victory last weekend and had an early chance to continue that scoring form when Liam Martin tested visiting 'keeper Dwayne Nelson.

Conor O'Grady then had a go from 20 yards later in the half while Martin turned another effort wide.

Ballymena came into the game more as the first half progressed with David Cushley proving a particular threat albeit without troubling Alvin Rouse.

Cushley went closer early in the second half with a 22-yard snapshot followed by strike partner Jamie Davidson almost making the most of a poor Ciaran Harper clearance.

Home substitute Ryan Campbell then squandered a promising opprtunity when he headed a Daniel Keohane cross straight at Nelson.

And he had another opening 20 minutes later but dragged his shot past an upright in what was the last real effort of the game.
