MISKIMMIN GRABS DECISIVE GOAL AS GLENS RETURN TO WINNING WAYS

GLENTORAN picked up their first three points in a month with this defeat of Dungannon Swifts at The Oval.

The Glens stormed into the lead on nine minutes through Marcus Kane after he got on the end of a Mark Miskimmin cross to nod home from close range.

However, the Swifts levelled in similar circumstances eight minutes later after Darren Boyce floated the ball over for Jamie Douglas to head past Elliott Morris.

Jim O'Hanlon might have restored Glentoran's advantage on 38 minutes only to poke the ball past an upright while Swifts 'keeper Gareth Buchanan needed to be alert to deny a Ryan O'Neill header.

Miskimmin did make it 2-1 on 60 minutes when he met a Jason Hill cross from the left to head past Buchanan.

The Glens should have added a third with four minutes remaining when Jordan Stewart was brought down inside the area but Buchanan thwarted Hill's subsequent spot-kick, correctly diving low to his left.
