Andrew Mitchell struck right at the end to earn Dungannon Swifts the points from Coleraine's visit to Stangmore Park.
Abby Sanusi created the first effort of note after 25 minutes only to send the ball wide of the target from a good position.
The Bannsiders almost drew first blood on 27 minutes through Neil McCafferty after he saw his volley tipped onto the crossbar by 'keeper Andy Coleman.
Gary Liggett might have fired the Swifts into the lead five minutes from the break with a strong volley just wide of the post.
Indeed, the Swifts looked the more likely to find a way through after the break with substitute Mitchell twice coming close.
However arguably the best chance of the game fell half-an-hour into the second half when Coleraine midfielder Ruaidhri Higgins delivered a free-kick just wide of the target before another effort a few minutes after that met a similar fate.
Matt Hazley did have the ball in the net after that for Dungannon only for his effort to be ruled out offside.
Liggett came close again in the closing moments only to fire against the woodwork before, on 89 minutes, Mitchell went one better with what proved to be the winner when the ball fell loose from a Terry Fitzpatrick chance.
And it got worse for the Bannsiders after that as they were reduced to ten men following a McCafferty challenge on Jamie Glackin.
