Paul Owens celebrates scoring direct from a corner (Picture: Stephen Hamilton/

PAUL Owens made the most of the Showgrounds wind to score twice from corners as Coleraine stretched their unbeaten run to 13 games.

Gary Hamilton almost fired Glenavon in front on 16 minutes with a sweetly struck free-kick from 22 yards only for the ball to strike the top of the post.

But the visitors did grab the advantage five minutes later through Brian McCaul who beat Gavin Cullen with a rising, curling effort from outside the box.

Coleraine levelled on 46 minutes through Owens after the recent arrival from Carrick Rangers scored direct from a corner floated over - wind assisted - from the right.

Aaron Canning fired the Bannsiders in front 15 minutes later following a moment of confusion between Hamilton and Ciaran Doherty which allowed the ball to run loose.

And three minutes after that Owens remarkably repeated his earlier feat from another corner to send the visitors into an ultimately unassailable lead.
