CLIFTONVILLE continued their relentless march forward at the top of the table with a comprehensive defeat of Coleraine at Solitude.

Liam Boyce opened the scoring for Cliftonville after just five minutes when, after beating the offside trap, he rounded 'keeper Michael Doherty to slot the ball home.

Joe Gormley made it 2-0 on 24 minutes when he got onto the end of a ball into the box to see his shot deflected past Doherty.

The Bannsiders pulled a goal back on 37 minutes through a Curtis Allen tap-in after David Scullion had flicked on a Stephen Lowry cross from the left.

And Allen might have levelled for Coleraine following a period of possession only to send one header wide and another effort over.

However, with 19 minutes remaining, Gormley made sure of the points for Cliftonville after he pounced on some poor defending to knock the ball past Doherty.
