BALLYMENA United further strengthened their top six prospects with this defeat of Dungannon Swifts at Stangmore Park.

The Swifts moved in front after just seven minutes courtesy of a Jamie Tomelty low free-kick from the edge of the area.

But United levelled on 22 minutes through Jim Ervin when he turned to collect an Aaron Stewart ball before slipping a shot past Gareth Buchanan.

And the visitors moved in front seven minutes from the break when Allan Jenkins got on the end of another Stewart cross.

However, Dungannon levelled on 53 minutes when former United striker Gary Liggett connected with a Tomelty corner to head beyond Yohann Lacroix.

The Sky Blues regained the advantage with 17 minutes remaining after Darren Boyce got on the end of a David Cushley into the area before taking a controlling touch and curling a shot beyond Buchanan.
