SECOND half goals from Mark Surgenor and Shane Dolan saw Ballymena United sweep to a fourth consecutive victory at the expense of visitors Ballinamallard United.

Ballymena started brightly with Tony Kane sending a volley just over early in the game.

At the other end Richard Lecky was inches away with a left-foot effort which came back off an upright before Nathan Cashel turned the ball over the bar from a good position.

Then, just before the break, Shane Dolan sent a near post header wide from a David Cushley corner.

Duwayne McManus might have broken the deadlock for Ballinamallard early in the second half when, with the best chance of the game so far, he fired well over with the goal at his mercy.

However, Ballymena moved in front on the hour when Mark Surgenor turned the ball into the empty net after Allan Jenkins beat Alvin Rouse to an Aaron Stewart corner to create the opening.

Then, a few minutes later, it was almost 2-0 only for Rouse to deny Cushley from the spot after the visiting 'keeper had brought down Jenkins.

But Ballymena's second did arrive with a quarter-of-an-hour remaining after Shane Dolan connected with a Cushley corner from the right to fire a low shot past Rouse.
