SKY BLUES KEEP ANOTHER CLEAN SHEET TO TAKE OVERNIGHT LEAD

BALLYMENA United moved to the top of the Danske Bank Premiership with a two-goal victory over Lisburn Distillery at The Showgrounds.

United created the majority of chances in the first half with David Cushley firing just wide early on while Jamie Davidson sent an effort straight at 'keeper Lee Windrum when well placed.

Then Aaron Stewart struck an upright before, on the stroke of half-time, a Cushley free-kick deflected off Whites defender Johnny Harkness and into his own net to give the Sky Blues the interval lead.

Despite this obvious boost Glenn Ferguson's side failed to add to their lead for the majority of the second half although Gary Thompson did fire narrowly wide on 86 minutes.

But, with two minutes remaining, substitute Neil Lowry made sure of the points with a low drive into the bottom corner.
