Richard Lecky wheels away in delight at The Oval

GLENTORAN squandered the chance to move to the top of the table against a Portadown side that were forced to play for over an hour with ten men.

Richard Lecky grabbed the only goal for the Ports with just nine minutes remaining in an ill-tempered encounter at The Oval.

Indeed, with Linfield losing yesterday, it continued to prove to be a largely unproductive weekend for the leading pack.

Cliftonville went three goals down at Coleraine (Boyce 11, Ogilby 33, Lowry 40) before staging an ultimately unsuccessful revival while Crusaders could only draw at home to Dungannon Swifts despite taking an early lead.

There was a shuffling of positions in the middle of the table with Glenavon defeating Ballymena United at Mourneview Park to move into fifth, pushing the Sky Blues down a place.
