Institute are now four points adrift at the foot of the table following this home defeat at the hands of Coleraine.

Ian Parkhill seized the early advantage for the Bannsiders after just 90 minutes when he touched the ball home when Ruaidhri Higgins flicked a Neill McCafferty corner into his path.

Matthew Snoddy doubled Coleraine's lead six minutes from the break with a composed finish after Parkhill spotted his run into the area to unselfishly lay the ball off.

Just prior to that Dean Curry crafted 'Stute's best effort when his header from a corner was well saved by Michael Doherty.

After the break, Declan McKeever threatened for 'Stute on 53 minutes with a 25-yard effort just past an upright.

However, there was little else to report from a game that faded to a finish in the difficult conditions.
