SUPERSUB LIGGETT CLAIMS POINTS FOR SKY BLUES

BALLYMENA United stunned the Crues with a late revival to claim all three points at Seaview.

Chris Morrow almost set the Crues up to take the early advantage when, on two minutes, he delivered a free-kick which was missed by both Timmy Adamson and Josh Robinson.

That proved to be one of the few highlights of an otherwise uneventful second half with Morrow perhaps coming closest again in stoppage time when he forced Dwayne Nelson into a low diving save to his left.

For Ballymena, Shane Dolan came closest when his goalbound effort was cleared to safety by Matthew King.

The deadlock was broken ten minutes into the second half after Eamonn McAllister poked the ball through for Adamson to beat the onrushing 'keeper.

Then, on 65 minutes, McAllister might have got on the scoresheet himself only for ball to strike the crossbar.

Ballymena got back on level terms 12 minutes later when a Shane Dolan strike took a deflection off Joshua Robinson before creeping over the line.

And they secured the points a minute from time thanks to a superbly struck right-foot substitute Gary Liggett drive.
