Dungannon Swifts moved off the bottom of the table after twice coming from behind to secure a point from this visit to face Ards at Clandeboye Park.

Ards moved in front after eight minutes. Swifts defender Chris Hegarty brought down Jonny Frazer as he worked his way into the area down the left, prompting referee Evan Boyce to point to the spot which Frazer himself duly stepped up to convert.

The Swifts levelled four minutes from the break after substitute Mark Patton picked up the ball just outside the area on the left before crossing for Corey McMullan to nod home from close range.

However, Kyle Cherry restored the home advantage early in the second half. Mark Kelly had done well down the right to work the ball into the box before it fell for Cherry just in front of goal to slot home at the near post.

But Cherry's joy proved to be short lived. Just seven minutes after that he was dismissed for a challenge on McMullan, his second caution of the game, leaving the hosts to play out the remaining half-an-hour.

They held onto their lead until 11 minutes from time. Ards keeper Sam Johnston initially did well to deny McMullan but, when the ball was returned, Ally Teggart worked his way through the defence to knock home what proved to be the equaliser that earned the Swifts a much needed point.
