SWIFTS SHARE POINTS WITH NINE-MAN PORTS

Dungannon Swifts earned an important point from this visit to Shamrock Park but might feel they could have sealed all three.

Portadown started the game on top with Peter McMahon and Chris Casement both coming close inside the opening couple of minutes.

But as the first half progressed the Swifts gradually began to find their feet with Terry Fitzpatrick twice being denied by David Miskelly.

Then, after half-an-hour, Gary Liggett found a way through the visitors with a header after Ryan Harpur's corner dropped invitingly for him in the box.

However, the Ports levelled on 63 minutes through Casement after he collected the ball on the edge of the box to finish cleanly past Alvin Rouse.

Jamie Douglas almost restored Dungannon's lead ten minutes later after getting on the end of a Liggett cross only to send a left-foot effort just over.

Portadown finished the game with nine men following two 90th minute dismissals.

Robert Garrett was shown a straight red card after an incident with Jamie Glackin only to be joined by Casement after his actions in the scuffle that followed.
