Crusaders can return to the top of the Danske Bank Premiership should they win Monday night’s clash with Warrenpoint Town live on Sky Sports (kick-off: 7.45pm).

The Sky Sports cameras travel to the Q Radio Arena for the first ever live broadcast from the County Down club in the fifth and final live game to be shown on the network for this current season.

Oran Kearney’s Coleraine took advantage of Crusaders’ free weekend when they defeated Carrick Rangers on Friday night but the emphasis will be on Stephen Baxter and his Crues as they look to regain their two point lead at the summit going into the final five ‘post split’ fixtures.

A win in front of the Sky Sports cameras would be a high point in a turbulent month that seen manger Matthew Tipton depart for Portadown to be replaced by Stephen McDonnell for the remainder of the current season. 25-year-old McDonnell’s only game to date was the impressive 3-1 away victory over Ballymena United at the Showgrounds last weekend.

The ‘Point currently remain in tenth place in the Danske Bank Premiership seven points ahead of the relegation playoff place having played two games less than nearest placed Carrick Rangers – victory against the odds on Monday would go a long way to ensuring top-flight survival having been promoted only last season.

Meetings this season

In both meetings between the two teams, Crusaders have been victorious in each of the games. The early season fixture at Seaview marked a comfortable 5-0 for the Shore Road in August, it was a bit closer in the return fixture at Milltown in December when Crusaders had to come from behind to win 3-2.
