Coleraine defeated HW Welders to reach the quarter-finals of the JBE League Cup but only after a penalty shoot-out at The Showgrounds.
The Welders shocked their senior hosts with a not undeserved opening goal on 19 minutes after a Scott Davidson corner from the right was turned home by Ryan Deans via a deflection.
However, the Bannsiders levelled on 40 minutes through James McLaughlin with a close range finish from Aaron Mullan's left-wing cross.
The visitors came close to regaining the lead on the hour with only a perfectly timed tackle from Mullan thwarting Josh Cahoon while, for Coleraine, Ian Parkhill twice tested Michael Dougherty.
Ruairi Harkin had perhaps the best chance of extra-time only to fire straight at the Welders 'keeper.
