BETMcLEAN LEAGUE CUP: FIRST ROUND DRAW THIS WEEK

The BetMcLean League Cup returns this week with the draw for the first round of the competition.

Wednesday morning sees the launch of the 2018/2019 competition and includes the draw for the First Round, with games due to place on Saturday 4 August.

Dungannon Swifts made history last season as they won their first major trophy in February, defeating Ballymena United in the final at the National Football Stadium at Windsor Park.

20 teams from the Bluefin Sport Championship & Premier Intermediate League will enter the draw to determine the four first round matches, and the 12 teams who will subsequently get a bye into the next round.

All last season’s Danske Bank Premiership sides and the top four from the Bluefin Sport Championship will enter the competition in Round Two (to be played on Tuesday 28 August).

The draw will be made at 11.30am and be available in full on the NI Football League website and social media.
