Glentoran secured a BetMcLean League Cup quarter-final berth following a penalty shoot-out victory over Coleraine in an entertaining clash at The Oval.
The visitors moved in front after 21 minutes through Josh Carson after his left-foot free-kick from the right flank went directly into the bottom corner.
Glentoran levelled around sixty seconds later when John Herron's free-kick from outside the area took a big deflection off Aaron Burns on its way past Chris Johns.
That was how it stayed until just after the hour when a superb delivery from Nathan Kerr found Allen who got behind a defender to send a header into the bottom corner.
However, back came the Bannsiders with five minutes remaining. Eoin Bradley used his strenghth to work his way to lay the ball off for Jamie McGonigle to turn home inside the area.
Carson almost sealed the game right at the end of normal time when he struck the post from a corner.
Moving into extra-time, James Ferrin almost found the net only for his header to be cleared off the line by Aaron Mullan.
Then, on 108 minutes, Coleraine regained the advantage when Ferrin was adjudged to have handled a Bradley shot on the edge of the area with McGonigle clinically powering home the subsequent spot-kick.
But, as with the first half, the Glens positively responded almost immediately when Redman beat a couple of defenders to get into the area before laying the ball off for Allen to poke home at the near post to send the game into penalties.
