A SECOND half Jordan Owens strike secured an IRN-BRU League Cup final berth for holders Crusaders against north Belfast rivals Cliftonville next month.
He struck on 64 minutes after getting on the end of a Paul Heatley pass to slot the ball past Linfield 'keeper Alan Blayney.
In difficult, freezing conditions Crues 'keeper Sean O'Neill was twice called into action in the first half to deny Philip Lowry and then Jamie Mulgrew.
At the other end Blayney turned away a Josh Robinson drive from distance while Colin Coates sent a later effort wide.
The deadlock was almost broken in the opening minute of the second half after Mulgrew crossed for Peter Thompson to head against the corner of post and bar.
Then, four minutes after Owens had fired the Crues in front, they thought they had doubled their advantage when Timmy Adamson netted rom a Heatley cross only for the 'goal' to be ruled out offside.
