LINFIELD thumped six goals past Ballymena United at The Showgrounds to comfortably book their place in Wednesday's semi-final draw.
After an even opening period the Blues seized the advantage on 21 minutes when Peter Thompson stooped to head home a Michael Carvill corner.
It was 2-0 on 30 minutes after Johnny Black thumped a 25-yard pile driver past Dwayne Nelson.
The scoring continued five minutes later when Carvill combined with Mark McAllister before beating the offside trap to slot the ball into the net.
And barely two minutes later Brian McCaul added a fourth with a tap-in from a Black effort before, on the stroke of half-time, McCaul doubled his tally with a header from another Carvill delivery.
The Blues added their sixth on 85 minutes through substitute Gary Browne after he volleyed home a Jamie Mulgrew cross.
