A John McGuigan extra-time winner was enough to see Glentoran squeeze past Loughgall into the BetMcLean League Cup Third Round.
Chances were at a premium in the first half with Conall Delaney perhaps going closest just before the half-hour mark after going one-on-one with Gareth Buchanan with the Loughgall 'keeper parrying the ball into the path of Corey McMullan before making another save.
Buchanan was in action again early in the second half to push away a Robbie McDaid header before, moments later, Curtis Allen fired just over with an overhead kick.
Loughgall's first real effort of note didn't arrive until the 66th minute when Mark McConnell went through on goal but Dwayne Nelson made a great save to deal with the threat.
Andrew Hoey squandered a great opportunity for the Villagers early in extra-time only to blaze over after connecting with a great cross from the left.
What proved to be the winner arrived on 102 minutes after some neat play down the right with McGuigan coming through to fire low beyond the 'keeper.
