Mark Sykes grabbed a hat-trick as Glenavon recovered well from going behind to an early goal.
The Hoops stunned their hosts after just seven minutes when a poor clearance by 'keeper James Taylor only when as far as Declan Monaghan who promptly returned into the bottom right corner.
However, six minutes after that, Jack O'Mahony levelled for the Lurgan Blues with a back post finish after Sykes had floated over a cross from the left.
Then, on 24 minutes, Sykes got in on the act himself with a low drive into the bottom corner from 25 yards.
He doubled his tally a couple of minutes later following a goalmouth scramble in the Celtic penalty area before, moments from the break, grabbed his third with a header from an Andrew Mitchell through ball.
That was how it stayed until five minutes from time when Bobby Burns completed the scoring after touching home the rebound from Andrew Doyle's thunderbolt against an upright.
