Linfield have been paired with Norwegian Eliteserien champions Rosenborg BK in the 2019/20 UEFA Champions League First Qualifying Round following today's draw.

The Blues were first out of the hat in Group 3. The games are due to be played on 9th/10th July and 16th/17th July although exact details have yet to be confirmed by UEFA.

Managed by Eirik Horneland, Rosenborg are no strangers to these shores. Indeed, this will be their fifth visit to Belfast, and fourth this decade alone.

This will also be their third meeting with Linfield. The sides first locked horns in the old European Cup back in September 1986 when, despite a draw at Windsor Park, Rosenborg progressed 2-1 on aggregate.

They met again in July 2010, this time in the Champions League. A scoreless draw in Belfast was followed by a 2-0 home win in Norway.

Rosenborg were then paired with Crusaders in the 2012/13 Europa League, winning 4-0 on aggregate, before again travelling to the Shore Road in the same competition just a season later.
