NI FOOTBALL LEAGUE AGM 2020

The eighth Annual General Meeting of the Northern Ireland Football League was held remotely tonight (Thursday 29 October, 2020).

Presiding over the meeting, Interim NIFL Chairman Gerard Lawlor outlined to attending member club representatives the challenges of Covid-19 and the steps taken to support all member clubs throughout the pandemic.

Acknowledgments were made to the clubs, sponsors and local media amongst others for their continued support of the NI Football League. In closing Mr. Lawlor paid a warm tribute to outgoing NIFL Board Chairman Brian Adams for his long standing service to the league during the past number of years.

Looking forward, the Chairman outlined the NIFL Board's plans for governance review of the company for the long term benefit all clubs and leagues within the membership.

Financial consultant Mechelle Law presented the statement of accounts and the balance sheet of the organisation for the year ended 31 May 2020.

Gerard Lawlor has been unanimously appointed as Chairman of the NI Football League Board, whilst in addition Connaire McGreevy has also been appointed as an ‘A’ Director and Jonny Madill has been re-appointed as an Independent Director of the NI Football League.

Following elections the NIFL Board of Directors for the 2020/2021 season: Chairman – Gerard Lawlor (Cliftonville); Vice-Chairman – Colin Kennedy (Independent); Directors: Colin McKendry (Coleraine) Connaire McGreevy (Warrenpoint Town), Colin Russell (Knockbreda), Aidan Murphy (Armagh City), Andrew Conn (Linfield Ladies), Jonny Madill (Independent).
