Linfield Ladies star midfielder and Northern Ireland international Rebecca McKenna has signed a professional contract with FA Women’s Championship side Lewes FC.

The 19-year-old has been one of the biggest stars in the Danske Bank Women’s Premiership in recent years and has captained the Blues in recent weeks.

McKenna spent four seasons at the club having joined from Glentoran in October 2017 and it took her just seven minutes to find the net in her debut for the club six months later.

Alongside multiple cup success, the midfielder helped the club to two league titles and competed for Phil Lewis’s side in the Champions League.

McKenna earned her first international call-up in early 2018 and has become a fixture in the squad in recent years - and was important in Northern Ireland’s qualification for next summer’s European Championships.

Lewes FC play in the second tier of English football.
