It was another dramatic week in the Danske Bank Women’s Premiership with 13 goals flying in across the three matches.

Cliftonville Ladies leapfrogged Glentoran Women at the top of the standings as the Reds ran out 5-2 winners at Linfield Ladies as the Glens fell to a surprise 2-1 loss at Sion Swifts.

Elsewhere, Crusaders Strikers made it four wins from their last five league games as they saw off Derry City Women 3-0 at Seaview.

Here is the reaction from the winning camps this week.

Clare Carson, Cliftonville assistant coach
“It was frantic in spells - we started very well and got our early goals.

“They came back into the game really strongly in the final 15 minutes of the first half and their tails were up for the second half and got two goals from our mistakes and it was game on.

“They put us on the back foot but we dug in for the last 15 minutes and managed to get two more goals in what was a fantastic show of resilience.”

Tasmin McCarter, Sion Swifts captain
“We dominated from start to finish and fully deserved the three points.

“The hard work and desire from the girls was unbelievable and the win was well deserved.”

Julie Nelson, Crusaders captain
“It was a battle - but that is always the case when you play Derry City, and this year they really stepped it up.

“It was tight right up until the closing stages and we were just happy to keep the clean sheet and come away with the three points.”
