There was no change at the top of the Lough 41 Championship but there was a shuffling of the pack at the bottom as the post-split fixtures got underway.

Leaders Newry City travelled to face second placed Annagh United at the BMG Arena holding a four point advantage, and that was how it stayed after the sides battled to a 1-1 draw.

Both goals came after the break with Annagh taking the lead through Craig Taylor on 48 minutes before Odhran Casey levelled for Newry with around a quarter-of-an-hour remaining.

HW Welders moved into third spot thanks to narrow defeat of Loughgall at the Blanchflower Stadium. Carl McComb knocked home the only goal of the game on 28 minutes after running onto James McCarthy's through ball to slot the finish past Berraat Turker.

At Darragh Park Dergview and Ballinamallard United met the third time in a couple of weeks. Dergview had won the previous two encounters but, on this occasion, the spoils were shared after Patrick Ferry had cancelled out Mikhail Kennedy's opener late in the game.

There was also a draw at Wilgar Park as Dundela and Ards managed four goals between them. Eamonn Fyfe handed the Duns the advantage on 15 minutes, with Ross Arthurs levelling early in the second half. The sides then traded goals in the closing minutes with Rhys Annett edging the home side back in front ahead of Daniel Reynolds' late equaliser.

Brendan McLaughlin hit a stoppage time winner as Institute defeated Ballyclare Comrades at the Brandywell. Prior to that Mark McFadden had opened the scoring on 12 minutes, with Andrew Mooney striking for the visitors not long after the interval.

Meanwhile, at Breda Park, Queen's University climbed off the bottom on goal difference with a two-goal victory over Knockbreda courtesy of goals from Tamer Atrach and Caomhan McGuinness.
