Linfield's European adventures continue this evening with the visit of FC Zurich to Windsor Park in the UEFA Europa League, kick-off 7:45pm.

The Blues host the Swiss side in the third qualifying round after last week's heavy Champions League exit at the hands of Bodo/Glimt, with the return next Thursday evening.

Zurich have had a poor indifferent start to their 2022/23 campaign. Despite winning the title last season, they are currently bottom of the domestic Super League with only one point from their three outings to date. They have also failed to find the net from a scoreless draw against Luzern and defeats to Young Boys and St. Gallen

However, like Linfield, they are in the Europa League after finishing on the losing side in the Champions League, having gone out 5-4 on aggregate to Qarabag.

Managed by recently appointed by former Austrian national team coach Franco Foda, Zurich boast a squad of drawn from many nationalities including Kosovo, Serbia, Spain, Germany, Estonia, Canada, Guinea, Norway, Benin, Italy, Congo DR and Croatia!

The aggregate winners of the tie go forward to meet Scottish side Hearts in a play-off for a place in the group stages of the competition, with the losers dropping into a similar play-off in the UEFA Europa Conference League against either Latvian side RFS or Hibernians of Malta.
