Bangor clinched the promotion play-off spot on the day Newington were crowned champions as the Lough 41 Premier Intermediate League wrapped itself up.

The Seasiders defeat fellow play-off hopefuls Armagh City 3-1 at Clandeboye Park to go forward to take on Knockbreda for a place in next season's Championship.

Bangor moved in front late in the first half through Jack Upritchard but Stefan Lavery levelled for the Eagles early in the second half. However a late Ben Arthurs double saw the home side safely through.

Newington swept to a five-goal victory over Banbridge Town prior to the receiving the league trophy. Darren Stuart found the net at both ends of the first half either side of a Conal Burns strike with Ciaran Lundy and Gary Warwick adding to the goal tally after the break.

Meanwhile, at The Showgrounds, Limavady United and Dollingstown battled to an equal share of the four goals scored with Gary Liggett bagging a late equaliser for the visitors.
