The Danske Bank Women’s Premiership resumes on Monday night with the 14th round of fixtures – the last full gameweek before the league split, although most teams have postponed matches still to play.

The biggest clash of the matchday without a doubt is at Ashfield boys HS, as champions Glentoran Women host league leaders Cliftonville Ladies – there are 10 points between the sides, but the Glens do have a game in hand over the Reds.

Elsewhere, Sion Swifts Ladies will believe they must beat Derry City Women at home if they are to maintain their hopes of a top half finish while Mid Ulster Ladies will look to build on their win over the Candystripes last week as they travel to Crusaders Strikers.

Linfield Ladies host Lisburn Ladies in the sole match on Wednesday evening.

Glentoran Women vs Cliftonville Ladies, Ashfield Boys HS, 7.45pm

Glentoran Women will believe they must win this game if they are to keep alive their title hopes – a victory for the hosts would reduce the gap at the top to seven points and the Glens would still have a game in hand.

Cliftonville Ladies, who have won all 12 league matches so far, will be aware that two more matches against their rivals are to come after the break – with all still to play for in the title race.

The Reds won the reverse fixture back in May 3-0 at Solitude, as Toni-Leigh Finnegan, Kirsty McGuinness and Caitlin McGuinness were all on the scoresheet.

Sion Swifts Ladies vs Derry City Women, Melvin Sports Complex, 7.45pm

Derry City Women and Sion Swifts Ladies both had damaging results last time out; the Candystripes sunk to the foot of the standings after their loss to Mid Ulster Ladies with Sion Swifts seeing their top half hopes suffer a huge blow with defeat at home to Linfield Ladies.

Sion would move above the Blues, temporarily at least as the South Belfast club don’t play until Wednesday, if they win this game by five goals or more. Going into this matchday, Sion have played one game fewer.

Derry have scored just two league goals this season and accumulated only three points; Sion won the reverse 3-0 at the Brandywell this campaign with Naomi McLaughlin, Cora Chambers and Aoibhe O’Neill all scoring.

Crusaders Strikers vs Mid Ulster Ladies, Seaview, 8pm

Crusaders Strikers have won six of their last eight league games with the only blotches on that run a scoreless draw last week against Glentoran Women and a narrow defeat to Cliftonville Ladies.

The Crues have established themselves in the top three but their opponents won last week out at Derry City Women and gave the North Belfast side a big scare earlier in the season.

Goals from Sharagh Murphy and Jessica Magee twice gave them the lead in the reverse fixture, although the Crues ran out 4-2 victors as Emily Wilson, Morganne Beggs, Meghan Ingram and Jessica Rea all found the target.

Linfield Ladies vs Lisburn Ladies, New Midgely Park, Wednesday, 7.45pm

This fixture will be played on Wednesday, and Linfield Ladies will know that if Sion Swifts have not beaten Derry City Women – a win here would secure a top four spot for them.
However, with Sion’s game in hand they will know that the County Tyrone side winning on Monday would make this a must-win game for them.

Having recorded a seven-goal league victory over Derry and a win at Sion last time out, the Blues go into this game on strong form against a side who have lost three of their last four.

Doubles from Keri Halliday and Carla Devine saw the Blues run out 4-1 winners at the Bluebell Stadium back in May in the reverse fixture.
