Dundela, Ards and HW Welders all picked up victories on a wet Tuesday night that saw Loughgall all but clinch the Lough 41 Championship title.

The Villagers might have played out a scoreless draw away to Annagh United – albeit hitting the woodwork on more than one occasion – but the point puts them nine clear of their only challengers with a massive goal difference in their favour.

Warrenpoint Town, the only side that can catch them, went down by a single goal at Ards with Championship Player of the Month Adam Salley bagging what proved to be the winner just before the break.

Dundela moved into third spot with a thumping four-goal home win over Ballyclare Comrades.

Jonah Mitchell handed the Duns the advantage midway through the first half, with Willie Faulkner doubling up with an overhead kick not long after the interval. Joshua Stewart added a third from close range before Tony Kane volleyed home at the back post to complete the scoring.

Meanwhile, at the Blanchflower Stadium, HW Welders came from behind to sweep past Institute.

Jack Millar smashed ‘Stute into the lead early on but second half strikes from Matthew Ferguson, Ronan Wilson and Michael McLellan saw Paul Kee’s side come through to claim the points.
