There is a whole host of fixtures taking place in the Bluefin Sport Championsip this weekend, writes Aaron O'Neill.

League leaders Ballyclare Comrades travel to face third placed side Newry City. Newry are on a terrific run of form at present as they find themselves unbeaten in their last seven league games. The Comrades are the team that everyone is looking to beat they are currently three points clear at the top.

Second placed Institute are away to Lurgan Celtic this weekend. It’s a case of top versus bottom when these two sides meet and Paddy McLaughlin’s side will be hoping for no slip-ups if they are to maintain their title challenge.

Portadown welcome H&W Welders to Shamrock Park on Saturday. A win for Niall Currie’s side would see them leapfrog their opponents and move a little closer to the promotion places. The Welders enjoyed a late victory last time out as they beat Limavady United 3-2 at Tillysburn Park.

Limavady United will be looking to bounce back to winning ways after last weekend’s narrow defeat. Loughgall are the visitors to The Showgrounds on Saturday and the Roesiders will be looking to make home advantage count if they are to muster a victory.

In the rest of the action, Dergview take on PSNI at Darragh Park whilst Larne play host to Knockbreda. Larne remain rooted to the bottom of the table whilst their opponents are still in the promotion race heading into this weekend’s round of fixtures.
