BLUEFIN SPORT CHAMPIONSHIP PREVIEW: 24/25 NOVEMBER

This weekend is shaping up to be another stellar weekend in the Bluefin Sport Championship, writes Aaron O'Neill.

First up on Friday night, Newry City will be looking to continue their good form as they take on Limavady United, having gone eight games unbeaten in all competitions. The Roesiders come into the game in good form having enjoyed a 3-1 home win over Loughgall last time out, moving them up to fifth in the table.

League leaders Ballyclare Comrades take on Portadown at Dixon Park on Saturday afternoon.

A win for the Comrades would keep them top of the table should second placed Institute fail to win when they take on Knockbreda at Wilton Park. Stute go into the game in good form as they are on an unbeaten in their last five league outings.

Fourth placed H&W Welders will be hoping to continue their unbeaten streak when they face Dergview at Tillysburn Park on Saturday. The Welders followed up a win against Limavady United with a point last weekend against Portadown.

Larne will be hoping to grab another win this weekend when they travel to face PSNI. Tiernan Lynch’s side moved off the foot of the table last weekend as they enjoyed a rare 3-1 win over Knockbreda.

Larne have also hit the headlines this week as they landed the signature of striker Davy McDaid. The Inver Park side fended off Premiership opposition in the form of Linfield, Glenavon and Coleraine to bring the ex-Cliftonville and Waterford United striker to Inver Park.

Loughgall will be hoping to pick up a win this weekend when they take on bottom side Lurgan Celtic. Dean Smith’s side suffered a 3-1 defeat to Limavady United last weekend and will be hoping to register three points on Saturday to keep in touch with the top six.
