Warner Mullen grabbed a hat-trick as Lurgan Celtic swept to victory over Limavady United at The Showgrounds.

Celtic took the lead on 37 minutes. Philip Donnelly exploited a gap in United's defence and was given the space to deliver a cross to the back post for Mullen to stroke the ball home.

Mullen doubled his tally within a minute of the restart after doing well to control the ball in the box before hooking an effort beyond 'keeper Paul Wells.

The Roesiders pulled a goal back soon after when Jordan Thompson cut the ball back for Shane Jennings to steer the ball into the net.

However, Mullen restored Celtic's two-goal cushion on 71 minutes with a successfully converted spot-kick, awarded after a rash challenge by Lee Harkin inside the box.

United grabbed a last minute consolation through Thompson's crisp drive after a decent passing move cut through the Celtic defence.
