A lacklustre first half with few chances of note for either team was brought to life on the stroke of halftime when Loughgall's Andrew Hoey hit a shot into the ground and over the 'keeper following a left wing cross to give the Villagers then lead.

This kicked Lurgan Celtic into life for the second period, and they began to dominate proceedings before a breakaway second goal for Loughgall from Marc McConnell left Celtic with an uphill battle.

Celtic's Adam Rodgers poked the ball into the net following a Gareth Buchanan parry from a Warner Mullen shot to give them hope but Loughgall saw out the remainder of the match to secure all three points.
