FIRST ELECTRIC IRELAND WOMEN'S ACADEMY LEAGUE DEVELOPMENT DAY

Friday night played host to the first ever Development Day of the Electric Ireland Women’s Academy League.

Explaining the programme, the NI Football League's Development Manager Steven Mills, "The Academy League for our women’s clubs is an important part of the overall development and the NI Football League's commitment to the female game. Alongside our partners Electric Ireland wanted to offer more support and opportunities to develop capacity within our member clubs.

"The Women’s Academy League is more than just playing competitive matches, the support from Electric Ireland has allowed us to offer player, coach and club development education which has been warmly received by our clubs."

On Friday evening clubs got a first chance to sample the concept through some shorten games alongside the interactive IFA 'Grit & Goals' workshop, the workshop focused on motivation, commitment and what it takes to be a top player.

Thanks to all the teams who attended the Development Day also thanks go to Linfield FC and Olympia Leisure Centre for the use of their excellent facilities.
